Hannah Hoekstra plays leading role in German feature film ARTHUR & CLAIRE

Golden Calf winner Hannah Hoekstra will play the main part in the new German dark comedy ARTHUR & CLAIRE by director Miguel Alexandre.

The Austrian actor Josef Hader will be portraying Arthur. Momentarily he can be seen in the feature film: STEFAN ZWEIG: FAREWELL TO EUROPE, the Austrian Oscar Entry for Best Foreign Film. The scenario of ARTHUR & CLAIRE is based on the play of the same name, written by Austrian play writer Stefan Vögel. The shoot will start on November 20th in Amsterdam.

After months of preparing, the terminally ill Arthur travels to Amsterdam in order to commit euthanasia. However, on the evening before his planned death, a young woman is trying to end her life in the hotel room next to him. Soon the death plans of the unlikely couple interfere with each other.

ARTHUR & CLAIRE is produced by Tivoli Film (Germany), in coproduction with Mona Film (Austria) and Topkapi Films (The Netherlands). The film is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund Production Incentive.
