INSTINCT Opens Netherlands Film Festival 2019

The 39th edition of the Netherlands Film Festival opens on Friday the 27th of September with Instinct, Halina Reijn’s directorial debut starring Carice van Houten and Marwan Kenzari. The psychological thriller about an experienced psychologist, who in spite of her expertise and experience is completely infatuated by a sex offender, premieres in the presence of leading actors Carice van Houten and Marwan Kenzari. Both actors enjoy international fame and will walk the red carpet for the festive premiere in Stadsschouwburg Utrecht. Topkapi Films produced Instinct and Man Up – Reijn’s and van Houten’s company – initiated and coproduced the film. The Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) runs from the 27th of September to the 5th of October of 2019.

Instinct is a Topkapi Films production, in coproduction with Man Up and BNNVARA. The film came about with support of the Netherlands Film Fund, the Netherlands Production Incentive and CoBO. The film will be released in theatres on October 3rd by distributor September Film.

The official public premiere of Instinct will also be on Friday the 27th of September. Tickets are available at www.filmfestival.nl. During the festival Instinct is also part of NFF’s regular festival program.
