Today the shooting of Nude Area started. The film is directed by Urszula Antoniak and produced by Topkapi films and Polish co producer Apple Film Production. Canal+ Poland is also attached as partner. De main characters will be played by debutants Sammy Boonstra and Imaan Hammam.
Nude Area is a hypnotic portrait of female seduction featuring Naomi (15), a Dutch girl from poshy South-Amsterdam, experiencing a crush on Fama (15), a beautiful Arabic girl living in the poor quarters of Amsterdam West. During one magical summer in Amsterdam the two girls play an emotional chess game of love, seduction and attraction.
This is the second collaboration between Antoniak and Topkapi Films. In 2011 they made Code Blue together, that was selected for Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes.
Wild Bunch will distribute Nude Area in 2013.
