Initiated by Jeroen Plesman, great-grandson of Albert Plesman, Topkapi Films and AVROTROS have decided to collaborate on a drama series on the live stories of Albert Plesman and Anthony Fokker. Both are considered pioneers of the Dutch commercial air transport. In addition to the live stories of both pioneers, who had a love-hate relationship, the history of both KLM and Schiphol airport are an import element in the series.

Jeroen Plesman on the series: ‘I started research for a drama series on my grandfather and his main opponent in 2013. Now Topkapi Films and AVROTROS have committed themselves to the project, I am assured of strong and experienced partners in the field of drama.’

Mr. Ron Wunderink, former Manager of Corporate Communications at KLM, and currently writing the company history of KLM in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Dutch airline in 2019, advises in the development of the project.

The series will be finished in 2018, a year before the 100th year anniversary of KLM.
