Mijke de Jong’s 10th film is selected for the Signatures line-up of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
This programme features the latest work of established film-authors and festival veterans. De Jong’s film is selected together with the works of amongst others Claire Denis, Carlos Reygadas and José Celestino Campusano.
GOD ONLY KNOWS is not De Jong’s first film to premiere at the festival, the premieres of Bluebird and Stop Acting Now also took place in Rotterdam. Her latest film discusses the meaning of family ties when two sisters (Monic Hendrickx, Elsie de Brauw) disagree about the care for their mentally unstable brother, an overworked investigative journalist (Marcel Musters).
