Topkapi is happy to announce its upcoming co-productions and projects for the Summer of 2018.
Topkapi Films will co-produce the new feature by Paul Verhoeven. The principal photography of Benedetta will start on the 19th of July in Italy. Virginie Efira (Elle) and Daphné Patakia (Interruption) will play the main roles, Charlotte Rampling (45 years) and Lambert Wilson (Of Gods and Men, The Matrix) are also part of the main cast. The film is produced by French SBS – Saïd Ben Saïd, in co-production with Topkapi Films (NL). The film will be edited by Job ter Burg (e.g. Elle, Brimstone, Borgman).
We will join the Belgian-Dutch feature film De Patrick, to be directed by Tim Mielants (e.g. Peaky Blinders). Pierre Bokma and Hannah Hoekstra are part of the main cast. The Belgian Bart van Langendonck (Savage Film, Belgium; Bullhead, la Fidele) will produce the film. Post sound will be done in the Netherlands by Peter Flamman. The Belgian-Dutch Frank van den Eeden is attached to the film as D.O.P.
After the highly acclaimed King of the Belgians, Topkapi collaborates with Bo films again for the sequel The Barefoot Emperor (Belgium, Bo Films), together with Wajnbrosse Productions (BE), Propeler Film (HR) and Art Fest (BG). Ton Peters, cinematographer of King of the Belgians, also returns to shoot The Barefoot Emperor. Jessica Woodworth and Peter Brosens will direct and produce the feature. The start of principal photography is scheduled for the 15th of September in Croatia.
Recently Pari, the first Greek co-production Topkapi joins, directed by Siamak Etemadi (Cavo d’Oro), finished shooting. The film is produced by Heretic (Greece), Topkapi Films (Netherlands), Le Bureau (France) and the Chouchkov Brothers (Bulgaria). Wilbert van Dorp was the art director on the film. WarnierPosta will work on the Post Sound.
In June principal photography ended for the film INSTINCT, with Carice van Houten and Marwan Kenzari in the leads and directed by Halina Reijn. The film is now in post-production and is edited by Job ter Burg.
Another film currently in post-production stage is God Only knows, the new film by Mijke de Jong, with Monic Hendrickx, Elsie de Brauw and Marcel Musters in the leading parts.
TV Film Tom Adelaar (part of the Dutch talent program One Night Stand; director: Gonzalo Fernandez; written by Ashar Medina) will premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival by the end of September. The television release for this 45 minutes-film is scheduled for October 2018.
By the end of July, production of the television film “Fully Hooked Up” will kick off, in collaboration with broadcaster NTR. The film will be directed by Eva Zanen and is based on the screenplay by Janneke van der Pal.
